Creamy balsamic dressing in a small bowl, smooth and glossy

This creamy balsamic dressing is one of those recipes that quietly becomes a staple.

It’s tangy, a little sweet, and perfectly savory, with just enough richness to make simple salads feel satisfying. Made with basic pantry ingredients and ready in minutes, this is the kind of dressing you’ll want to keep in the fridge at all times.

It’s the reason my Easy Cobb Salad works so well — but it’s just as good on wraps, grain bowls, roasted vegetables, or anything that needs a quick flavour boost.

Why You’ll Make This Again

This creamy balsamic dressing is fast, flexible, and wildly versatile. It balances richness and acidity beautifully and works with almost any salad combination, which makes it an easy win for busy weeks and meal prep.

Balsamic vinegar adds acidity and depth, balancing the richness of the mayo and giving this creamy balsamic dressing its signature flavour.

Ingredients

Creamy Balsamic Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
(light mayo works great if you like a more generous pour)
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp grainy Dijon mustard
    (any Dijon-style mustard works)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Add all ingredients to a bowl or jar. Whisk or shake until smooth and fully combined. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

No Fuss Notes

  • This dressing keeps well in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • If it thickens when chilled, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes or stir in a splash of water.
  • Use it generously — this dressing is meant to be drizzled, not rationed.

Serving Ideas

This creamy balsamic dressing pairs especially well with salads made using chicken, try my best damn grilled chicken breasts or quick instant pot shredded chicken, which make it perfect for quick, protein-packed meals.
